Excitebike: World Rally - NL review

With more tracks, more bonus features and more strategic racing challenges, Excitebike: World Rally is a racing game that will keep you challenged with its ever-increasing difficulty and entertained with its track editor and online play. Not only does this remake vastly improve on its original formula, but also it provides a more polished and enjoyable racing experience than any other game currently available on the Wiiware service. Graphical enhancements aside, this is the full game that Excitebike always should have been. It not only leaves other Wiiware racers in the dust, but also wiped out on the side of the road.

Excitebike: World Rally - IGN na prvi pogled

"World Rally" refers to the different locations in the Wii game: you'll race in Japan, Mexico, London, and the US, but all it really does is change up the background visuals. The structure is very similar to what Monster Games did in Excitebots and Excitetruck before it: there are multiple circuits, and you earn a rank based on how you perform in a specific course: earn an A or B rank and you'll move on, but hit the C rank and you'll have to try again. Like the previous two Excite racers on Wii, Excitebike: World Rally also has an S rank to shoot for, and you can bet that the effect an S rank has in the other games will apply to Excitebike…

ExciteBots - Kotaku review

Yes, Excitebots is awesome, but only if you let yourself go. Let the game take you on a ridiculous, primary-colored ride that grabs hold of the beetle and robot obsessed little kid within. The skies are blue, the grass is green and the flowers a lovely pink. The screen is constantly a blur of activity, save for the few moments when you're flying a few hundred feet in the air, with little but the sound of rushing winds blowing past your 'bot. Expect to have your eyes dry from a lack of blinking and cheeks sore from grinning at the on-screen insanity.

Ugly interface, but a great selection of options, from the amazing online mode to the assortment of mini-games and collectibles.

A pretty Wii game. Big, detailed race tracks blaze by. Humorous and simultaneously interesting vehicle designs. Fluid animation and effects. Framerate never slows.
5.0 Sound
While the sound effects are more than adequate, the music falls into the generic realm. And the omission of SD card support is missed.
8.5 Gameplay
Frenzied, fantastic fun. Non-stop speed, jumps and trick. Tight controls. A variety of gameplay modes. You'll have a great time.

Much improved over Excite Trucks thanks in large to the new mini-games and truly compelling online mode.

Racing is always better with live opponents, so the good news is that online play is available through Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection, with up to six players and their transforming bots. The not-so-great news is that offline play is still limited to two players and you must first complete the training races before you can play with a friend.

Gamespot

Perhaps one of the biggest sleeper hits on the system, Nintendo's launch racer Excite Truck is still one of the fastest, intense, most beautiful, and pure entertaining titles on Wii, and right up there with the best of the best in Wii racing. After seeing some decent success with the game at launch, developer Monster Games is now letting the throttle loose one more time on Wii, bringing the odd – but oh so awesome – Excitebots to Wii in just a few short days.

Igra stvarno izgleda veoma dobro plus sada ima i online podršku za 6 igrača, jedina loša stvar je to što je Nintendo izgleda izbacio podršku za puštanje MP3 muzike sa SD kartice, ostaje nam da se nadamo da je sada originalna muzika malo bolja od one u Excite Truck igri.

- Pressing control pad too long can cause bot to overheat and slowdown
- Tilt Wiimote in quick seesaw motions to make bot go faster when it’s running on two legs
- Can play with the Wii Wheel
- There is a difference in how the bots handle compared to the trucks from Excite Truck
