Basically, you can take everything from our 2007 review of the original version and apply it to Reflex, and that's pretty dang respectable. The woefully uncredited team at Treyarch deserves some props for faithfully -- not necessarily exactly -- bringing over Modern Warfare's single-player campaign and multiplayer modes.
It is unfortunate that High Voltage has produced a Wii engine capable of slick visual effects and then used it to create a world with such a paucity of artistic identity. Fighting bug-men and men in suits wearing dark glasses, you negotiate humdrum levels with about as much architectural interest as a submarine interior. Your enemies, meanwhile, are more A than I, either crouching behind boxes and popping their heads up in the same spot ad nauseam, or pathetically running right into your shotgun sights. Almost all of the battles in The Conduit beyond its first few levels revolve around killing respawning enemies and then destroying their spawning pods. This is not progress for the firstperson shooter genre.
Nowhere near classic status, but this is a welcome companion to Metroid Prime: Corruption.
+Varied, enjoyable weaponry
+Assured shooting gameplay
+Darting, nippy plot pacing
-Repetitive action
-Dodgy grenade mechanic

I thought my bias against Red Steel 2 from not liking Red Steel would be canceled out by my bias in favor of Westerns and that I could pretend to be objective about this game. But truthfully, my love of Westerns and the sheer amount to which Red Steel 2 appeals to it overpowers any memories of Red Steel, so I have to admit I'm biased in favor of Red Steel 2.
Be ready to get hours sucked away from your life as you engage in not only one of the best WiiWare titles in a while, but one of the better FPS experiences on Wii to date.
You'll love
* A Wii game with challenging difficulty
* Incredible roster of online options
* Customizable everything
You'll hate
* The bland environments online and off
* Talented voice cast squandered on ho-hum plot
* Far Cry Vengeance (trust us)
It should appear quite evidently that Water Warfare isn’t your typical hardcore first-person shooter. Instead though, it’s a family-friendly title that allows kids to jump in on all the action, which can be reflected through the themes of the environments. Everything about the game is pretty bare-bones, so not everyone will be satisfied with their purchase, but all the same, Water Warfare is a pretty decent title from Hudson that gamers around the world will be able to play this summer.
8.0 Presentation
Variations of this storyline have been told a dozen times in shooters, but the presentation is still well done. Intriguing cut-scenes, great acting, and a variety of options make The Conduit pop.
8.5 Graphics
The Conduit's art is sometimes outperformed by its tech, but the end experience is still visually pleasing. An outstanding 3D engine allows for graphical effects uncommon in most Wii games.
8.0 Sound
Fantastic voice work, sound effects with genuine umph and catchy music. WiiSpeak sometimes drowns out the music and sound effects during online play.
8.0 Gameplay
If we were just rating gameplay control, it'd be a perfect score. The Conduit is a fun first-person shooter, but beware: it's also a straightforward one. Run and gun, enemy spawners, and little else.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Between five and a half and eight hours for the single-player mode, which you can come back to for achievements. But the multiplayer mode will last months, if not longer.

Great OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
Recently, I was privileged enough to have a one-on-one with the game (courtesy of developer High Voltage Entertainment) and was blown away by what I saw and felt while playing The Conduit. This is the real deal, and the closest a game has ever come to feeling like Goldeneye or Perfect dark -- yeah, you can quote me on that.
The visuals also push the boundaries of what we’ve come to accept as normal for a Wii game. “The Conduit” won’t stand toe-to-toe with “Call of Duty 4” of course, but there’s a lot to like about what High Voltage has accomplished here. The Wii proves to be perfectly capable of handling the game’s extensive use of reflective surfaces, depth of field, water effects and other visual tricks that are typically associated with more powerful hardware.

...we've got a special treat that we think fans of the Left 4 Dead series are simply going to love. It's called The Grinder and it's a blood-drenched first-person shooter designed to accommodate four-player online cooperative action. This title looks absolutely phenomenal, as you're going to see..
