Within minutes of playing the game, we found ourselves locked in an intense rally against an AI-controlled opponent and our movements perfectly represented on-screen. A practice mode prior to the real matches proved an excellent teacher because an on-screen icon floated over the court net and showed exactly where our returned ball would go based on the timing of our swing -- simple, but extremely useful when trying to calibrate ourselves to the experience. We also quickly discovered that the power of our returns was more reliably read and translated in Grand Slam Tennis than it is in Wii Sports.
